Changing the Oil
Posted in boat safety
It’s said that you should change your engine oil every season, so we thought it would be a good idea giving you a step-by-step guide on how to do this.
First off, run the engine of the boat until it’s at 130 degrees and then drain the oil using an oil drain pump. You then need to replace the plug and loosen the oil filter on the engine. After this has been unscrewed all the way, use a paper toel and catch drips from the filter’s mounting.
Now it’s time to wet the O-ring (using your finger) with fresh oil, then screw on the filter till finger-tip tight. You can now refill the crankcase with brand new oil and make sure to add a quart for the filter. Wipe up any drips you may have and then start the engine up and let it run for a few minutes.
